Delhi Police have dismantled an interstate narcotics syndicate with the arrest of a key supplier from Odisha. The arrest follows an investigation into previous drug seizures in Delhi.
Officials of the Anti-Corruption Branch questioned a station house officer of the Delhi police, whose premises were raided after allegations that he has amassed assets worth around Rs 20 crore, on Wednesday. The accused officer is yet to be arrested.
Five juveniles were arrested by Delhi Police on Thursday for two murders in east Delhi. CCTV footage from both crime scenes showed the same five suspects, leading to a 13-hour manhunt. The juveniles, who were in a drunken state, first murdered a man in Ghazipur and then attacked a passerby in New Ashok Nagar. Police apprehended the suspects after reviewing CCTV footage and tracking their movements through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.
The incident took place on Saturday night after former DSP Ashok Sharma, who is a cancer patient, requested the two sisters to refrain from honking their car a day before, a police officer said, adding that Sharma escaped with minor injuries in the attack.
